With fall comes aerification and reseeding of cool-season grass turf areas. However, this sometimes comes with a price!
Often if not flagged, irrigation sprinklers can be badly damaged by aerification equipment.
Over the past few days I have seen irrigation systems operating with obvious damage to sprinkler heads based on the spray pattern (as in the photo) or in some cases just a "geyser" from the broken head and/or irrigation line (as in the second photo).
Be certain to run the system while you can observe each head and make certain they are operating properly.
If not, have them serviced immediately to practice responsible water conservation!
